K {to the} A {to the} PPA {to the} GAMMA

For the past few months I felt my life needed a change. I felt as if all I did was school work and sleep. My life was bland and uneventful, and it honestly was not what I had hoped my college years were going to be like. I've been told that college is some of the best years of your life ( and the way I was going the rest of my life looked crappy.) I had wanted to get more involved on campus and meet more people, and I knew going Greek was a great way to do that. I had wanted to rush my freshman year( like most people) but with no scholarships to help pay tuition and a job that barely kept me able to attend school, rushing fall 10 was not an option. I knew my parents would help out if I needed tuition assistance(which they did) but I couldn't ask them to help me out if I needed the money for being in a sorority, so I let rush week come and go for 2 years. This fall, I decided that no matter what I would at least rush and get a feel of greek life and mingle with people. I fell in love with Kappa and knew that this year was my time to join {no excuses} I panicked when I realized the time committment{working at the hospital doesn't really allow for flexibility} but the actives in Kappa were {and are} so understanding. I instantly fell in love with my sisters. I've never made friends so fast. I've felt like I've known them my whole life. I feel like there is a bond there that couldn't have existed outside of this house. Whether it's watching the Walking Dead on Sunday nights, Taco Tuesday runs at Del Taco, camping in Island Park over fall break, or rapping in ΣΧ Derby Days I know that there is always something for me to do with my sisters. I love you PC12 and the rest of Kappa! :) (cue picture overload)
Big/Litte Reveal! I'm absolutely in LOVE with mine.

I'm sorry for the neglect

I originally decided on having a blog as a way to capture some of my thoughts without having the whole journal thing. But, like most things lately, I've neglected it. Seeing as my last post was oh so dramatic and seemed like 2012 was going to be the worst year of my life. I feel as if I should a) start by recapping my entire summer( didn't do much so it shouldn't take to long) and also talk about how school has started up again (yay football!) On a sidenote 2012 has turned out fantastic since my last post.

SUMMER:
Well, seeing as I work at the Hospital there isn't as much free time as I would like to sunbathe and travel as I would like, but, I always seem to end up having a great summer regardless.
It started out with my work having a 5K at the rec center close to my house (so I had really no excuse to not get out and participate) I had been going to the gym regularly and thought this would be a great way to continue working out my knee. I ended up having such a fun time with my coworkers that ran it too. I wasn't the fastest and I wasn't the worst. My knee did great and that's all I really care about.
This picture is also the last one I have with my friend Keith from work. He moved back home to Las Vegas at the end of summer to attend school there. He would have been an idiot to pass up the scholarship they offered him.
(ok just kidding here is the last picture we have together..his official last day in the lab.. I cried like a baby)

LAKE POWELL
so remember that little goal I had of  getting in a bikini by Lake Powell?? well that goal might not have happened the year I had planned it, but it happened. All that time at the gym paid off. I've officially lost 30lbs since starting college and as a present I went and got my belly button pierced. Our Lake Powell group was small this year, but I think it was just as fun.
I took this photo the last day we were on the lake. As like past trips there is always a big storm Saturday and I am so glad I was able to capture the beauty of the lake after the storm. (Thanks Instagram for making it look cooler)

My family also went up to Yellowstone and went river rafting in June. I had to work so I drove up and went river rafting and then came back home for the weekend.

FALL:
Well as inevitable as it is school started back up again. People left, work became more stressful, homework began to pile on.
